WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COACHING AND THERAPY?
Well, the quick basic answer is that therapists treat mental health issues, coaches do not. Therapists focus more on healing the past to improve your present. Coaches focus more on your future and help you shape your present to reach future goals. Therapists have accreditation, licensure, and guidelines they are bound by such as HIPAA and confidentiality while coaches do not.
So how do you know which is right for you? As always I highly suggest interviewing several coaches and therapists (most have consultations for this reason) to see what resonates best with you. The structure of coaching and therapy can look very different and you need to find the structure that is going to work best for you!
